For more than seven decades, The Free Press Building housed one of the most iconic, widely distributed newspapers in the country. The Detroit Free Press occupied the 14-story, 302,000-square-foot building until they moved out in 1998. The Albert Kahn designed building, built in 1925, underwent a recently completed major renovation, that re-purposed the building into a mixed-use residential project, with ground floor retail and office on the second and third levels.
