The KBHCC is the International Media Center for the FIFA World Cup taking place this Summer with nine of the World Cup matches taking place in DFW.

The Riverfront Boulevard Corridor parallels and is east of the Trinity River Dallas Floodway with Downtown Dallas to the east. 1119 South Riverfront and others in PD 784 along with PD 800 comprise "The Cedars West." The most well known area activity is The Longhorn Ballroom at S. Riverfront and Corinth Street. The KBH Convention Center and Dallas County Criminal Justice Center are nearby. Matthews Development, f/k/a Matthews Southwest, owns much of Cedars West with several announced development plans. These include the Dallas Water Commons, a public/private use of the old Trinity River Meander channel and ponds with $11.25 Million in City of Dallas Bond Funds (currently on hold); the recently announced 24-acres resort and hotel Austria-based Therme Group spa with a possible $800 Million investment; the Dallas Station for the Dallas/Houston High Speed Rail if that is revived. Hidden in plain sight are other two other activities of note: (1) An entity associated with Unique Chateaus of Dallas has quietly rebuilt the interior of old buildings into residences on the opposite of S. Riverfront Blvd. backing to the old river meanders. These at 1208-1212 S. Riverfront have great views of the Downtown skyline and are offered for over $2 Million each. No one traveling along Riverfront would know such exist. (2) An experienced multi-family developer from the Washington, DC area, Petra Development owns the vacant corner of S. Riverfront at Dearborn Street close to IH 35E. It has obtained permission from Dallas City Council for a 200-unit mid-rise apartment which it plans to develop.
